Ive been thinking about making some Duck Calls kinda for a new challenge. Do any of you do it.I will make just the barrels first.(the easiest part to make and just buy the toneboards.) Ive heard that people making them sometimes use a #2 MT headstock alignment tool between centers to turn the barrels.

Here is a link for mandrels for making duck call or any type of call
http://www.flinthillsduckworks.com/Collet-Mandrels.html There is also a video on this site. You will need a cullet chuck. You can make your own mandrel by making two tapered cones and putting them on a pen making mandrel. Hut industries site also has their own mandrels.

Reasonable supplier for inserts.

I would suggest watching video in first link because with the cullet mandrels you can taper the open end easier.
