Here are a couple quick projects. I made a couple of drum pad holders that fit two different types of drum carriers/harnesses. These are prototypes from scrap wood.

The rod sits in a channel on the carrier. The end of the yellow cap presses against a lower, vertical face of the carrier to prevent pivoting along the rod, and the knob allows me to adjust the angle at which the pad rests relative to horizonal (and adjust for differences between carriers):

With the drum pad inserted:

For the second type of carrier:

I like the mortise & tenon. It looks cool. Oops ... has dust collected on the carrier? Must go practice....

These carriers allow you to stand and practice and/or march while playing on the drum pad without having to carry a big, heavy snare drum, which is hard on the back.

Ok, now it makes sense once I got down to the drum carrier.
Cool, smart idea.

Hello,

Thank you for the comments! I have been logged out for the last couple of year, and woodworking went on the back burner.... I have been getting back into it lately. I am sorry that I missed these posts and did not answer!
