I have a project which will require about 6 evenly spaced dowel pins. If I just follow the plans, the dowel holes will be perfectly centered on a glue joint in the second piece. It's not a major joint or component, but it made me wonder: will the dowel joints be weaker or stronger as a result of their proximity to the previous glue line? I would guess stronger, but would be interested in others' opinions.

Pictures or drawings would help.

Is it like a table with a breadboard end where the breadboard end is attached using multiple dowels? Does one of the dowels falls on a glue seam between two panel boards at the end grain of the tabletop? If so, then you may have wood movement issues, independent of the dowel question.
