I WOULD LIKE SOME TIPS ON REPAIRING DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS THAT ARE BASICICALLY FLOATING BECAUSE OF WEAR AND WILL PULL WINDOWS OUT TO WORK ON,WILLING TO PUT THE TIME IN TO DO THIS JOB.THANK YOU ALLAN K SEABROOK NH :icon_wink:
Allan, what needs to be repaired? Are the sashes coming apart? Need new trim and hardware?
The old windows were designed to kinda hang freely with play in them. They should move side to side and back and forth until they are closed and then locked together. There is a lip on the top outside of the bottom and the bottom inside of the top sashes that lock when closed.
Can you give some more info as to what they need?
