I know the purists will tell me to make it but I just don't want to right now. Can any of you shellac users suggest a reliable source for premixed that I could have a reasonable assurance won't be too old?

As suggested above Zinsser makes a good clear shellac. If your going to use it as a sealer, sanding sealer is every bit as good. I use both of them every day on turnings. Don't use shellac of any kind if your not going to put a finish coat on top of it if there is a chance of water getting on the shellac. It ruins the shellac, but I think you already know that Kevin. Good Luck, Mitch
