Internet has a LOT of sources for crushed minerals. Kinda depends how much you want to spend. I've purchased turquoise scraps from the Native Americans--good stuff, not cheap--I crush that myself. Look at RightRocks, from what I've seen, they're about as reasonable as they come.
Then comes the learning curve for doing inlays :huh:
Only thing with doing inlays for turning, keep in mind the hardness of the mineral==quartz for instance may look nice but will play hell with your chisels--may be as hard as the metal
