I am a beginner to woodworking and want to learn how to use different joinery methods. I would like to learn how to create dovetail, mortise and tenon, dado, and finger joints. Do I need a jig to create these joints? The current tools are

-Miter Saw
-Router
-Jig Saw
-Circular Saw
-Drill
-Sander

Is there a way I can create joint templates then route out the wood with my router? Thanks in advance for the help!

I think you might be asking too many questions all at once. Pick one joint that you want to do first, do a little research on it and then ask some questions.

At leat you have your own equipment. You're way ahead of me. A table saw would be nice.

Good luck.

Buy a japanese pull saw and a few chisels, you can cut most joints with those. Learn to do it by hand first, then when you move to machines you will understand each joint much better. You can do all of those joints with the tools you have, but to master them you need to take a few steps back.
