Hi all
I need help finding a dado insert to fit the above saw.
Does the 218133 make up the model number.
I heard that the first 3 numbers are the code for the builder. 113 Emerson what does 141 mean steel city

I make my own for the 113 craftsman saw I have. On mine the lip is only like 3/32". If you'res is the same as mine make it out of 1/2" plywood and cover the face side with formica. Then rabbet enough wood off around the edges on the back side so it will fit. Made just out of plywood I've had the blade break the insert and suck it through before. It needs something to re-enforce it.

Sounds good thanks. How do you hold down the insert when you make the clearance cut?

You lower the blade below the table and hold a scrap piece of wood on the insert and raise the blade all the way up so it cuts the slot. From then on you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Not exactly. When raising the blade or a dado set into the new insert, it should be held down either using the fence, OR a board clamped at the front and rear to prevent it from lifting or moving. Take no chances!

Unless someone would get overzealous and crank it up too fast I can't see any problems. On the other hand what if someone put their fence in the wrong place. I usually just use a push stick.
