Found a good size agate last year so I cut a slice from it and mounted this burl on it. Cant say I love it but I like it, something different. I thought the rock was more fitting than a wood foot since the shape of the burl looks a bit like South America to me. Left the underside of the burl uncut. Bottom of the agate I polished best I could with what I had.

Thanks all.
Steve I cut the rock with my tile saw. And man is that rock hard. I wasn't sure I was going to get through it. Then I took it to the belt sander with a tube wax on the belt. Again slow going but doesn't look to bad for just a belt sander. When I say belt sander I mean 3x18 power hand sander upside down held in a vice
