I aquired an almost new Chraftsman 14" band saw last summer and I have some projects in mind that require the use of a 1/8" (or possibly 3/16") blade. I am finding out that a bearing upgrade is almost a requirement in order to use these narrow blades.

I know that Carter sells a bearing update but they are quite expensive. Does anyone know of a "cool Block" upgrade for this saw?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

A newer 14" Craftsman saw

The newer ones have roller guides. The older ones have square posts that you can use wooden guides.
Changing out the roller guides to cool blocks won't be easy.
