I finished this about three weeks ago. It was to be a desk but was too heavy and didn't "feel" right. I salvaged almost all the wood and kept the top for three years before my wife hinted for a coffee table.

Woods are padauk, bubinga, ziricote, blond ebony and a lot of local figured walnut. The "pattern" wood pieces are about 3/8" thick. It all "floats" in a 1 1/2" framework built from several pieces of varying thickness plywood. So far nothing has moved. Underneath it is epoxy but the finish is all lacquer and ten coats thick.

The wife loves it.

I thought this was posted earlier but can't find it. Happens a lot with these #^&^%* computers.
