Can I slice a piece of cocobolo that is 1" thick into two pieces on the band saw?I was going to make drawer fronts for a small chest and thought that the matching grain would be real nice. The finished size of the fronts would be 3/8".This is for a Shaker style chest.

You are only limited by the height of your band saw. And even then you could cut the board into strips that will fit into your band saw and glue them back together afterwards. If you use the band saw for that the kirf will be almost unnoticeable. You will need some way to smooth the surface afterwards. Thickness planer or even ( drool ) a thickness sander. I do it all the time.
