I I made this cedar table with cabinet storage below as the base and 3 drawers for a customer. Also she wanted a matching bench with seat storage. Raised panel doors and ends.
Ive never worked cedar for furniture before so Ill throw it out there, is there really that much contrast in the grain once its finished or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
Nope your eyes are not playing tricks on you. I am milling cedar coming out of shelter belts they are removing in our area. It has a lot of contrast in the grain to say the least. :thumbsup:
I was a bit surprised about cedar grain as well. Most of it around here is used for fencing and siding, and is left rough. Once you sand and finish it, the grain really pops. A nice surprise for a cheap wood.
