What are my best options for cheap small caster wheels (1” -1.25”) I can put on a wood deck gate I’m making? Lots of choices for wheels but I don’t know what is good for outside so they’re rust proof?

welcome to the forum, RK.
photos of your project may help us help you.
(think about the cost: you get what you pay for)
but, if you don't mind replacing it every couple of years, that's your call.

Thanks John. I don’t have pictures handy but it’s just a basic 2x4 pressure treated pine rectangle frame, with balusters. Pretty basic. I am finding plenty of metal hardware / plastic/rubber wheel casters, but I assume the metal will rust. I haven’t found stainless/galvanized or anything like that.

Harbor Freight carries a large assortment of wheels/castors. I am sure you can find something there that would fit your needs.

A wheel that small will likely not roll very well. I don't know the width of the gate or how much weight the wheel needs to bear, but good hinges would be my solution.
