So valentines day is next week so I decided I'm going to make my girlfriend a candle holder. I looked at some scrap veneer and scrap wood. I'm not going by a plan in this one just deciding as I go. Anyways tonight I spent 3 hours and I have the veneer matched up and ready to be glued to the substrate. I also glued up some walnut pieces that will have a slight curve.

So last night I worked for a couple hours. I took the curved piece out of the press, jointed one edge and split it on the table saw. Then I planed them down to oversize final dimension, scraped and sanded the excess glue off and veneered them using my vacuum bag. The veneer for the top needed a few adjustments and I figured out the pattern I will do.
