I have a G1023slwx cabinet type saw and I'm wondering if I can use the Festool CT22 dust extractor for the saw. I know that I would have to have a connector for the 6 in opening of the saw, but would it do a reasonable job of collecting the dust? I am thinking of getting a dust extractor but don't know which to get first, the CT22 or a big dust collector unit for the table saw like the G1029z. Thanks

My choice would be

the big boy. You'll be wanting this for your table saw, your jointer, your planer (for sure) and your router table as wll. Shapers too if you go that route. You will want the CFM movement that the larger unit will supply to properly remove the chips these tools will produce. Not to mention using a cyclone adaptor between them for larger projects. The Festool extractor is clearly a great tool, for the intent it was designed for. Supporting the "DUST" collection needs of the Festool devices.
