I've seen them at some tool shows that had antique tool sellers.

Ever seen a joist brace in use?
No. I have seen pictures of them, but never seen one in use. Pretty much an angle drill and a ratchet wrench combined, right? I've used my mechanics ratchet wrenches with a 1/4" socket to hold a screwdriver bit to install or remove screws in tight spots. If it's a really tight spot, I use a closed end wrench on the bit, but it's a pain.

I had an uncle that installed telephones and phone lines in the '60s and he had one. As a young teenager, I thought it was a normal tool and everyone had one. (I wish I had it now as my cousin has no idea what to do with it).
