Bought my son some Stanley 750s for Christmas. Decided to write an article about my thought process: http://woodworkbyhand.blogspot.com/2013/12/woodworking-chisels-make-great.html
Now I'm looking at these el-cheapo $8 Harbor Freight woodworking chisels and I think I want to do a comparison review article for fun: http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/chisels-carving/6-piece-wood-chisel-set-3816.html
With any luck, maybe I can teach my son a little bit about the properties of steel and tempering in the process. If the set I get isn't well tempered, I might even try tempering it in the forge. Man, he would love that. He's all into the knife making.
