Hi, I have an opportunity to pick up some bay wood. Is this a good wood to use for woodturning?
I don't know if it makes any difference but this bay tree is in Florida and is about 10 inches in diameter.

Thank you
Dick

I've wondered about that one too. Might be a tad aromatic ( if it's what I'm thinking about)

I haven't turned any but this site says the results are good.

I assume this is the "bay tree" as in S. Ga and Fl; here in NC usually called a magnolia.
Sorta like fishing for crappie here, if you go to S. Ga they don't have crappie but the speckled perch is mighty fine.
