I am thinking about getting the Grizzly g0457 to re-saw,and cut stuff to small to cut on a table saw. Is this a good saw.

Likely a decent saw, showing as $995.

The Grizzly 17in G0513X2 is presently on sale for $1,050. I have the G0513 which has served me well for many years..

I think paying a small amount to get a 17in saw is a better way to go. Once you start using the saw you will eventually want more width or resaw height.

That's the saw I have and I like it a lot! I have resawed 10 inch walnut without a hitch. I also did a bunch of reindeer on also. I have a very small shop and this is the reason I bought it instead of a 17inch model.

I like the resawing capacity of the saw. I wouldn't go for a bigger saw if I think I don't need to. I think g0457 will do most everything you need. The Grizzly 14" has almost the same price with the 17" though .
