For a 14" machine, I am planning to get a 1/4" blade for normal use and a 1/2" for resawing. Does this make sense? Does anyone have a blade manufacture they recommend?

Widths seem good to me. As far as a manufacturer, no idea. I buy my bands from my saw sharpener. I tell him I need a 3tpi in a 3/8" wide 19'2" long. He cuts it and welds it.

Lenox Diemaster. (Bi-metal)

Don't go thicker than 0.025.

Find the blade you want online at the Lenox site, then for the best deal go to Lowes and they will order it for you, takes about a week.

It gives a superb cut and will outlast everything else about 10 times.

I second the Lenox Diemaster. I use a 3/8 for general cutting, a 1/2 for resawing and a 1/4 for the tight turns in some bandsaw boxes.
