First off I'd like to give a shout out to EastexToolJunky for recently posting a lot of tips. This is a bit large and clunky but very light. Next one would be smaller for sure. I don't yet have a chuck so I started with a laminated chunk of cherry and drilled out a hollow for the rice. I then made a cap out of maple with a tenon the size of the hole in the cherry. Glued those up and then turned the whole piece. Does anyone have any tips for when you make your final cuts to remove the piece from the waste on either end without leaving marks?
