My first project to share. I'm a novice... and I feel really inadequate posting my work in a forum where so much work is truly awe-inspiring.

Anyway, here is my first "real" project. No metal was used to hold this together -- a first for me. All mortise & tenon, and a few lap joints for the shelves.

My daughter is due to deliver her first baby (will be my second grand-daughter) any day now. She was anxious to get this table. I'm also working on a crib for this baby, inspired by Groovy here -- http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/f13/walnut-crib-finished-39111/.

Thanks for the inspiration and motivation from all in this forum.

So... the pics...

It looks pretty darn nice to me. Absolutely no reason to feel inadequate. I suspect your grandchildren will be changed on it.

Agreed. Excellent project. You and your daughter should be proud.

Great job, you know I am building another. If it ever stops raining on the days that I am not working overtime I should be finished soon. I too like the medallion I wonder if they have a handcrafted by "PoPPoP" one?

That table looks nice. I was never asked to make a changing table and now it is too late! Maybe the GRANDKIDS will want one for their kids. We are all NOVICES and EXPERTS to some degree. Always show pics, as we all learn from them.

Excellent work on that beautiful changing table. Simple design but really well crafted. Like the gorgeous wood and finish but mostly the open shelves, can be used to store a lot of baby stuff or even big baskets and for easy access. Love the medallions, very cool. I'm sure the grand kids will always remember Grand Pa.
