I am looking for a way to attach the trim so it can be removed and replaced easy. I cant move the blinds or match the lacquer paint. The first picture shows the trim in place. The second shows command strips but they only last about a month. The third shows what I have to work with.

small pieces of velcro tape comes to mind.

Thanks for your idea. I think the magnet might have a similar drawback. It gave me the idea for a latch to try.

How about hot glue. Holds well, comes off easy enough. No permanent damage.
