I posted a wood version of a two path Archimedes Trammel (do nothing machine) a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I’ve modeled a 3 pass version. I was able to animate it in CAD to verify that it worked and then sent it to my local library to be 3D printed. Amazingly, everything worked as expected :smile3:
Questions:
1) I understand this is a tool used by woodworkers and a two path version makes an ellipse. Does anyone know the shape this produces? To me, it looks like an elongated circle (oval) with straight sides.
2) Would anybody be interested in building a simplified version of this out of wood? If so, I can modify the drawings to match your tools/specifications (if needed). My only request is that you post a picture of your work when finished.
