I'm getting ready to make a bunch of 5/4x6 mahogany tongue and groove porch flooring and saw that they sell standard and a tapered set of knives. I'd say that the standard tongue is 1/4" thick and the tapered is about 3/16" or so. It looks like laying the floor might be a bit easier with the tapered. Any thoughts ?

I think the only real difference is the tapered is easier to install. Not running the flooring through a molder it doesn't have to be milled as critically accurate.
