I had to cut eighteen, 1" by 3/8" deep dados in some 10' 2/4's I'm using for ladder uprights. They had to be at an 18 degree angle. I set up my RAS and got it done fairly quickly. My dado stack only goes to 7/8" so I put on a 5/8" stack and took two cuts.
Without the RAS, I couldn't use a table saw because the stock was so long. Sliders don't take dado heads (to the best of my knowledge). The only power tool I could think of that would have done this is a router with a jig/guide built for 18 degrees.
Sometimes a RAS is a darn handy tool.
