A guy is selling a 6" jointer near me. He says it's an "Elephant brand". I haven't found much info on this brand. Does anyone have experience with this brand? He's asking $150.

It's possible there are no known other machinery made by that company. I have a bandsaw made by a company called Winner which is the only machine known. I looked at vintagemachinery.org and there is no Elephant company listed. You might post a picture for us to give you our opinion on it. If it is old chances are it is made to last forever.

I think it's a early Grizzly or a knock off. It was/is very well made and the bearings are available. I restored it, painted it and it looked like new. Paid $125 or $150 ? for it, and sold it for $250.00.
I recommend it at that price IF all is in good working order.

It takes some time to get it set properly. Once it's set, it works just fine. It's not a shop centerpiece, but it was cheap and gets things squared for me. I don't remember what I paid for it, but it wasn't significantly more than $150. If that is a HF jointer, just get a new one instead of a used one for almost what a new one would cost. If it's not HF and is this "Elephant" brand, then I'm sorry because I don't know anything about it.
