I made patterns on everything but swivel hardware for the base. If you've made them.hefore, best position of the hardware front and back.

I think I've got the chair figured out. Patterns almost all made.

Will not say this was a fun project.

You're getting there.. Is that treated pine on the base? I coulda sent you a big ol stack of cypress plus shipping. That stuff is next to bullet proof in nasty weather.. In fact I'm trying to give a bunch away just to make space for more of it..
Thx, but more wood and I’d have more problems. I’m using the Sapele up just to get rid of it. I’ve had it almost 10 years…
Looks like Superdeck brand From S&W has been discontinued., Guess im glad I didn’t use it on my back deck

After two coats I see no residue coming off the chairs. Not sure if the results would have been the same with linseed oil.

So the blades arent very old , but still leaving some minor grooves. Nothing a light sanding cant manage.

I am sure you already know this, but tweaking 1 or 2 of the knives over a bit will buy you some time and get rid of the grooving.
Not important as it takes a second to sand out which i have to do anyway.. thx

I decided last night I’m going to pick up more treated lumber for the bases of the other 3 chairs I need to make. I don’t think the price will drop much if any and I need to let this lumber set a couple months to dry out.

Any news on a price drop?

Looks very similar to the set I designed for Rockler Woodworking 12 years ago. It was a set of 4 construction plans for a single-glider, double-glider, single-fixed, and double fixed. It was a fun project. I did them all in SolidWorks so I could even play around with the pivot points for different glider motions (you asked about that in one of your previous posts). They built several of the models for photography, and I made them give me one of the double gliders as partial payment, because my bill was too hard for them to swallow. 😱

If you're interested, I could send you the PDF plans.

Thx, but I had the wife’s grand mothers chair to sample from..
Only thing ai hate about buying treated lumber at Menards, is they keep it outside 😩
Bought the lumber at HD. Didn’t feel like going around the store to buy the lumber. $80at HD. Guess Zillow have enough for 4 chairs. At least my pocket feels lighter 😩

I’ll let these sit in the garage for a few months. Rotating as time goes by..

Still looking covers for the chairs, I may buy some small tarps from HF..

Hopefully the lumber doesn’t twist too much. I turn it every so often to get it dried. I’ve got to count up,the hardware to make sure ai have enough to complete.. Inflation is dominating there..
Have doctors tomorrow, so I will go to a Menards And buy nuts and bolts. Guess I’ll cry now:cry::cry:
