The first one was an order and is spalted tamarind with a black titanium European style kit. The second one was for the wife and is flaming box elder with a satin nickel European style kit.

I like it real well. You have to cut a tenon to set the center band but other than that it is simple. The cost is just a tad more than the slims except for the black titanium. I have made several of them and the fit has been fine. You have to be careful when applying the center band to avoid any squeeze out of either epoxy or ca onto your finished surface.

And yes it is a ca finish. I'm using my phone for the photos, the finish looks better in person.
