Well I was running a little low on cash, but when a good friend of mine offered this Hitachi scroll saw and Porter Cable dovetail jig that he had never even used for 80 bucks I couldn't turn it down:eek:

Did I do good?

Looks like a good score to me.
I guess I'm gonna have to get into doing some scroll work now :D

That was a great deal. Th saw looks new. When I used my scroll saw, I set it up on a bench top with a kneehole. I found sitting close was more comfortable. As for the DT jig, good to have if you want machined DT's. There is just an esthetic beauty of handcut ones IMO.

The saw technically IS new... it's a few years old but it's never been used and neither has the DT jig.

The friend I got them from had come into a little bit of money and decided to blow it on stuff that he ended up not using.

These are not the first tools I've acquired from him... A couple of years ago I got a 14" Delta bandsaw from him.. that one had only been used once.. by me actually while I was building him a small bar in his house.

He is currently letting me borrow his DeWalt planer. I'm trying to buy that one from him, but for some reason that's one tool he doesn't want to sell, but he says keep it as long as I need it

As long as it does the job an 80$ score is a miracle :)
Woa, good score. I think I'd feel like I was taking advantage of the guy, though.

I thought so too, but he said it was taking up space in his laundry room (he doesn't have a shop) and he just wanted it gone.

You lucky dog! That's a awesome score! Congrats on the new toys! I want to find a friend like that lol
You deferentially scored! I just bought the dovetail, used for $60.00 and had to buy a couple of parts that put it over $80.00. Stop asking him about the planer and maybe he will forget! :)

That's a really good idea! I shall do that:thumbsup:
Nice score. I can picture out the grin on your face. Very lucky. Enjoy your new tools! Congratulations.
