The swing frame was done with 2x4's. The top of the swing where the pivot arms were suspended was 8 - 10' above the ground. I'd like to try to build one of these, and would love to find some plans to be able to do this.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

We had a swing like that when I was growing up. Only problem was it sat 4 and there were six of us. Google had plenty of images:

Perfect! This was exactly what I was looking for. I've already chosen a pattern. www.woodcraft.com/product/2006803/4373/canopy-glider-swing-plan-no-818.aspx Only difference from my grandfather's is the small table and canopy.
