thanks the walnut has taken on some cool coloration from sitting in the shade for months. I got the sweet gum from a batch of 15 trees that were being cut down only part of 4 had the color in them the rest were white. I don't think it is all that rare but it doesn't happen in every tree that I have seen.I'm not always a fan of spalted walnut but that one is really sharp. I've got some sweet gum that looks just like that. I wonder if that is normal coloration or just coincidence. Anyway, they all look great.
I doubt my little mini lathe could do a hollow form safely plus I have zero tools needed for one. I tried a small vase the other day which is now an even smaller lidded box and sake cup. :blink:Nicely Done so when are you going to do a Hollow Forum![]()
