Just finished submitting the photo of the easel. It may be a little larger than normal for the forum, but the size is what the WW asked for.

Still need to apply finish to the stretchers and line the trays with felt (felt lined trays are not part of the build), but its far enough now to qualify for the charity build.

I was asked to make the trays into the piece rather than making them a separate part, so some modifications were needed to the plans.

I'll be giving it to a manager at a local restaurant that the wife and I eat at nearly everyday. Her husband lost his job 2 years ago and they have been struggling to get by on just her pay check.

I'm also giving her the markers, chalk, and a roll of paper to go with it. At least her small son will have one present this year.

Got mine done with just 2 changes. First I routed slots up to the tray screw holes because I used shouldered inserts. Idea being, my daughter will be putting it up and taking it down by herself. So the shouldered inserts hold the tray assembly while she runs in the screws. I thought about wing nuts, but those girls would have them out double quick ;).

Secondly, I reinforced the tray bottoms...I know my granddaughters

I'm still debating on slotting the pins on one side to make putting it up easier. right now one side has the pins glued in and the other has them screwed into "t" nuts. It would make life a lot easier to have the stretchers slotted on the screw in side.

I like how yours turned out.

Sorry to hear about the stupid, lazy compressor. Doesn't it know who it's messing with? I'm glad that you were able to finish the finish anyway.

The results are in!

The following is a direct copy from the Wood Whisperer web site. Looks like we exceeded our goal this year.

The results are in! We had 210 Easel submissions and a total of $11,411 (the number went up since I filmed the video this morning).
We easily exceeded our goal of $10,000 and were able to give a substantial chunk of change to CancerCare. If you’d like to see the list of donors, take a look at the scrolling widget on the CancerCare Team Page.
We would like to thank each and every person who helped us out by building easels, making donations, and spreading the word about this event. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Don’t forget that you can still order your Woodworkers Fighting Cancer T-Shirts and Mugs!
Here’s to a happy and healthy new year!!

Here is a link directly to the site and Marc's video.

I would also like to thank everyone from Woodworking Talk who participated in this years build (Well done guys) and also those who followed along with me as I built the project in its modified form.
