Hello all! I’m new to the site. I just built this cedar chest for my grandparents and I’d like to finish it with boiled linseed oil. I’d also like to do some sort of engraving on the front with a wood burning tool. Should I do the engraving before or after the linseed oil? Or does it matter? Thanks!

I am just getting into working with wood and I want to try wood burning. Is there a brand of tool that is recommended? I would like one that I can change heads without having to let it cool. Thank you.
