Cheese Board & Plane

I made this cheese board and cheese plane to bring as a gift to my hosts for Thanksgiving. I've had the large rough hewn chunk of spalted maple sitting in my shop for a few years. It didn't really look like much until I lopped off a healthy slice on the bandsaw and it revealed its inner beauty. The board is roughly 7.5"x10.5" and 1 1/4" thick with a piece of ebony as a stop to hold the cheese in place when planing. Both the board and plane handle are finished with shellac and cutting board wax.
