Woodworking Talk - Woodworkers Forum - Tony B's Album: Writing Tables - Picture
Picture 5 of 10 from Album Writing Tables
Photo 5. These particular legs have a slight curve to them with an added foot. I made a template and marked the shape with a pencil. Then I used the table saw and started from the bottom and cut upward until a few inches from the marked curve. I then cut the curves on the upper portion of the leg to meet and blend in with the table saw cut. I then glued blocks to the bottom of the legs for the feet to be carved from. Then I used a drill press with a router bit and cross-slide vice to make the mortises. Finally I cut the feet to shape and finish sculpting with a drum sander on the drill press.
