Can anyone identify this butterfly?
No idea what this wood is.  It came in a bag of fire-logs
The mushroom garden.  Back 3 in Laburnam, front left is pine, middle front is wild cherry, front right is ornamental cherry.
Egg cups in beech.  Finished in Melamine laquer on top of cellulose sanding sealer
First attempt at a thin stem goblet.  No idea what the wood is, it came out of the log pile.  It has a nice grain pattern and some spalting though.
Novelty egg cup (work still in progress) in Lime.  The egg is also carved out of lime and is finished with linseed oil

Stick head.  Mallard carved in Lime wood (similar to bass wood) and finished with several coats of danish oil
Shield Bugs in Katacolon, Greece
Not something you see everyday!  This house sparrow just "hawked" the grasshopper in mid air and ate the lot.  Taken in Kephalonia

A bowl in spalted sycamore:  Finished with Walnut oil

Sparky
3 spoons each carved in lime wood and finished with Danish Oil.  The Strung Harp won 2nd prize in a local woodcraft association competition.
