First of all if I use gas for heat I have to buy propane gas. That was my first heater for the shop and heating up a cold shop and then running the heater all day it was just too expensive for me to run. Being retired and on a fixed income its just something I can't afford. I have found that the cheapest fuel is wood heat and on top of that its a good place to get rit of my saw dust and scrap wood. Seeing my insurance company and town has said no on this and I need to spend big money which I don't have I don't know what I am going to do this coming winter. Also working with wood for me is just a hobby and as I see it now its going to be a no for the cold months.

    About your heating problem...

There's been a few threads about heating shops so search them and maybe find your solution.

I have a wall mounted gas space heater for my shop and it's been doing fine for ten years. I never considered wood stove because I built my shop under my barn that doesn't have a chimney. If I install a chimney, they will tax the barn like "living" quarters and "tax free" NH has high property taxes
