It's me again. My son has some friends in the machine shop where he works. I could get him to make the tools or get someone to make them for me. Will check youtube and the Woodworking magazine archives. Thanks again.

There are several videos about metal spinning on Youtube and Woodworking magazine ran some articles about it a few years ago. "Made" tools are expensive, however, the tools are easy to fabricate at home. A simple piece of 5/8 drill rod ground and polished to a round end will work. Another piece with a thin high speed lathe cutter through it will work for a trimmer. About the hardest part will be fabricating a new tool rest for your wood lathe. One instruction video uses bar saddle soap for a lubricant and another uses was toilet seating ring. I watched a guy spin copper shot glasses with next to no fancy equipment. He did it on an old Dunlap wood lathe. One instruction site I visited used a simple ball bearing welded to a piece of tough steel rod.

But after seeing a few dozen videos, it appears that it is an obscure art that is not that mysterious to learn the basics.
