Glad to here there are some other Alaskan woodworkers here. I live in Wasilla so wood is fairly available in not somewhat expensive. What do you have for wood over there in Kodiak. I have never been to the island so don't know much about it. I have been having some birch cut locally and am planning on building a small dehumidifier kiln this winter. I got the plans from Daren, one of the moderators here on the forum. I wanted to drop a line earlier but with my week on/week off schedule sometimes I have to put stuff off for a few days. Welcome and would love to here how the woodworking is going.

I grew up in the Oskey area but left and moved to Indiandola 30 yrs ago. My folks still live there by the Russell Wildlife area. Also known as the old rock querry road. What took you to Al?
