Woodworking Talk - Woodworkers Forum - mpm1696's Album: My Antique Stanley Plane collection - Picture
Picture 1 of 15 from Album My Antique Stanley Plane collection
This different plane is a #10 1/2 Carriage maker's rabbet plane. I use it as a rabbet smoother to plane stock up to an inside edge. This version is a type 8 (1899-1902).

What makes this plane a bit special, is that the rear handle (tote), is two tone Rosewood (dark usual heartwood and lighter tone unusual sapwood)

Stanley Tools quit making this plane in 1964.
Ain't no carriage maker's anymore!
