I haven't found that many powermatic machines used, maybe they didn't import them into FL. thats where I live. i've had3-4 older rockwells, seems to be more of them around. watch cl, ebay, local papers, trader, papers. I look at the unisaws on ebay, cause thats what I have, I'm sure there are 66 powermatics. I am a buy used and fix it type of guy, it kills me to play retail for new, esp. tools machines etc. Check over all condition, cracked castings, missing parts, and I wouldn't buy a 3 phase saw because of the cost of replacing or getting a phase converter. Old machines, iun my opinion are amuch better buy, made of real sreel, good bearings etc. not crapy china made pot metal. Don't worry about paint rust etc. that can all be remover and refinished. New China motor is $300 usa made much more. Phase is stamped on motor id plate. If you find something, email and I will be glad to give you my .02 worth on it!

Hello John, ACP said to PM you about helping me locate a vintage powermatic tablesaw that I could restore and bring back to life so to speak. He said you would be able to possibly help me for a fee. Here's what I'm looking for...first off I'm very new to woodworking. I'm assembling my tools right now. I already have a craftsman 113 series saw that is working great for me but I know next year sometime I'll want to upgrade to something better. So I got to thinking it would be nice to find a used older powermatic tablesaw for cheap that I could take apart and restore back to life. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have and also let me know possibly a ballpark what I would need to spend to get one as well as your fee etc..I'm located in Dallas, TX if that makes a difference.
