    John, I'm working on a project in basic pine that will be painted with a brush, maybe a roller. Since this is your area of expertise, I need to ask you how high a grit I will need to sand to. In my limited experience it seems to me that paint shows imperfections more than a natural finish and I need it to be as good as I can make it.
