    Hi Liam,
Sorry for my late reply I just saw your message. I have run several loads in the kiln. The drying schedule is dependent on type of wood. I dry mostly hardwoods like oak, cherry & maple. This is a dehumidification kiln & this is the process I use for a typical load of oak. I load approximatley 800 Board Foot of lumber in the kiln with syickers between rows 16" oc. I add 5 gallons of water to bottom of kiln chamber & start the steaming process taking the temperature up to 160 deg Fahrenheit . This sets the pitch & kills any bugs. I then take the temp down to 104 deg Fahrenheit until moisture content reaches 6% to 8%. I use a lignomat moisture meter with probes installed in the middle of the lumber stack. I apologize for my lateness & hope this is helpful to your studies. Let me know if I can be of any further help.

    Hi Jim,

sorry to be bothering you. My name is Liam, i live in Ireland and im currently going to college in a furniture college. Im in my final year and i have to build the sauno wood kiln and develop a drying schedule for it. I seen in a early forum that you had purchased one. I was just wondering could you give me some advice on how to make a drying schedule with that type of kiln. any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
