Are you willing to send me the plans you have for the walnut crib you build years ago. Reading the forum I know the plans aren’t exact but it will give me a solid starting place. I have created my own, but want to ensure I don’t mess this up too badly.

Thanks for the response. I was looking over the plans this weekend and got to thinking about the holes that are left over after the side rails are removed. I'm thinking about either inserting some plugs or coming up with something decorative that matches the style of the crib and covering the holes with that. I suppose there are always fillers, but trying to avoid them for now. I suppose I have a few years to come up with something so maybe inspiration will hit me.

Are you still using the plans from plans design? Aside from making my own templates for the laminations, is shortening the front/back by two inches the only other modifications needed? I'm also thinking about beefing up the legs some.

I was wanting to get your advice on a crib I'm building. I recently purchased the CRCN2 from plans design, and then came across your thread yesterday. Aside from having to overcome the two big short comings you mentioned in the plans, the thing came out great I thought. However, after reading your comments I'm a little uncertain about going forward with the plans seeing as how the dimensions for the length are too long and the "full-size" patterns are wrong. Were there any other issues with the build? I thought you did a nice job of shortening the front and back of the crib to better fit the mattress. Can I ask what you shortened them to? I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give on these or if I should just save myself the hassle and avoid these plans all together? Thanks in advance.

Haha, I got them from Casey's Wood Products, Inc., through their website. They were the best deal I could find (factoring in shipping cost as well). It is the 3/4 hardwood wood ball. Model #179. I ordered 250 (and used nearly all of them) and got them at $0.058 each plus $8.95 shipping. To my amusement, they came in a lot smaller box than I'd envisioned.

Hey -- a question on that beautiful walnut crib you built -- how many feet of wood did it require? My daughter just found out she's having a baby in about 7 months, and she'd like me to build this crib for her... your work sold her!

I'm new to the forums here, but I just read through your crib build and it looks great! I was planning to do the same for my daughter, but unfortunately time got away form me so that means I have a crib hardware kit sitting in the shop collecting dust. I was wondering if you had any interest in it? Not sure which one it is exactly, but I do know its from Products America and I can look when I get home tonight.
