Woodworking Talk - Woodworkers Forum - Duane Bledsoe's Album: My completed projects - Picture
Picture 20 of 23 from Album My completed projects
A gift for my brother. He earned a trophy for a high bowling game so I made an LED lighted display for it. Made from only a 2x8 and then stained and painted. The light came from a Christmas ornament and is multi colored, changing through the whole spectrum of colors before starting over. The stained top cap is removable to access the light to change the battery. It simply slides on over some raised panhead screws that are set to provide a snug fit. I routed T slots in the cap to make this happen. The light itself is mounted in a very custom chiseled mortise just above the glass trophy itself. The main body is simply painted black so the light shows even in a lit room. I really ike the contrast of the paint and stain and will be doing this kind of finish again in other pieces.
