|Close up of the cabinet. It was made to allow a plexiglass cover to slide in from the right side between the face frame and main body. Joinery to build it included 20 dadoes to hold 10 shelves to the sides. It has a recessed lauan back of 1/4 inch plywood, covered in maroon felt to provide a finished surface inside the cabinet. The top and bottom were simply butt joined to the sides and brad nailed in place. Wood glue was also used in these joints. The left face frame was glued on only to keep nails from showing. The right face frame is floating, and only connected at each end since the plexiglass must slide in behind it in a groove routed on both top and bottom of the cabinet. The very top has a rounded over crown molding.
