    Hi Dale,
I haven't had the best of luck with the sorby texturing tool. I bought it at a woodworking show where they had an Englishman from Sorby's demoing. I had it work ok the first few times, then it sat for awhile. Since then, whenever I try to use it, I don't get a clean spiral. I get a double strike. I turn it down a little more and try again and the same thing happens. I have to get together with a buddy of mine who has one and practice up on it. Toolrest height is critical, and slow speed is also. Hard wood works better than softwood.
    Mike

Fire, I saw your thread on the sorby texturing tool. I just got one today and was wondering about the learning curve on using it and if you had any tips on learning it.

    thanks Dale
