Mobile wood fence.

Hello, I'm planning to build a wood fence to enclose the open side of my pole barn to keep livestock in. The thing is I will need to be able to move the planks to move in and out etc. between the poles. I am thinking of mounting brackets on the poles in which to place the boards and be able to lift the boards out to literally open the fence. My problem is finding this type of hardware. If any of you guys know of some, I would be grateful! Joseph

Why not just put a gate between the poles?

Assuming a gate doesn't work for you, basically what you need are called security drop bar door brackets. If you can't find ones in the right size, a metal work shop could fabricate them for you - not very complex to make.

You do not give an introduction to yourself. Knowing where you live might be helpful.

Do not know how fancy you want. Joist Hangers would do the job.

Okay guys, thanks! Exactly what I was looking for! And gates never occurred to me, but those steel bar gates actually are a good idea! Thanks for feedback!

He's just saying that folks here like to hear a little something about you - where you live, what kind of tools you have, skill level, bank account number and such. In case you can't tell, one of those is a joke...

I will vote for gates. The reasons are; Easy to put up and easy to use after putting up. Can you tell I like easy? The gates are also strong and come in different styles to hold all kinds of livestock.

Okay, lol I can see you like easy, yes. And to answer the other question, I live in Middle Minnesota, use basic hand and power tools and am not much of a carpenter, but I'll take a crack at it! Joseph
